Winter Wedding Inspiration

It’s December! That means Christmas is just around the corner and weddings this month are often filled with festive colours and details, but just because your wedding is in December doesn’t mean you have to go stereotypical Christmas as this post will show. Whilst this month is generally a quiet one for weddings I’ve been looking around blogs and Pinterest for some seasonal inspiration if you are planning a Winter Wedding that can carry through after Christmas has been and gone.

My favourite Christmas or Winter weddings are those that just have hints of the season, reflected in the colours and the details. You can still convey all the seasonal feelings without having santa hats and reindeer.

Cool Tones

You don't necessarily have to have red and green, white and blue tones can match beautifully with a Winter wedding. Even if you don't get a dusting of snow you can still achieve that feeling with cool tones. This is one of my favourite colour schemes, and it is a perfect way to create that Wintery look without going all out Christmas.

Jewel tones

Winter weddings also work so well with lots of foliage and deep jewel tones, the colours work so well together and it is a way of including the Christmas colours of red and green without going OTT. This is a more popular wedding theme as we go through the winter months, burgundy is always a prominent feature every year!

Woodland vibes

Winter always lends itself more to lots of foliage, pine cones and branches give a place setting or a cake that Christmassy feeling too. This natural theme is perfect if you are having a countryside or barn wedding venue, it is a great way to keep decorating costs down as well as you can collect a lot of greenery yourself before the big day.
